Emily forlorn

As events cascade over her poor head
Emily
is in a dark mood of self-preservation
as her world falls foul of shelter
soaring emissions once foreseen now unstoppable
finds herself in an intertidal zone of resolve and desperation.
Across Antarctic golf courses a flock of bird drops from the sky.
What once fell now has fallen
and we wonder from a distance does she admit defeat?
