Margarita Novikova (Montenegro 2020)
Each piece of art is essentially a digital photograph belonging to the series of photo documentation of my “live” mosaics creative process. Each mosaic as been created from the bits of ceramic tiles washed up by Adriatic sea reminding normal pebbles. These ceramic “pebbles” have been found and gathered at the beach called “Splendido” in Herceg Novi, Montenegro, during the covid-19 lockdown in April-July 2020. Each photograph is “a page in a visual diary” of my gathering of disposed materials at the seaside. I consider the process of collecting ceramic “pebbles” and making temporary mosaics as antithesis to shopping and consuming.
