Tau Pibernat and Vera Castelijns – Urban Fibers (Barcelona & Gouda, 1984)
Tau and Vera strive for collective systemic change to bring social and environmental justice. As textile designers they focus on rethinking the idea of waste as material and the re-localization of the production communities. The current fashion landscape needs alternatives to transform overly wasteful production models and move forward to sustainable options. Urban Fibers initiates a transition towards a regenerative textile industry by activating local garment waste as a raw material for textiles.
